What should always have been there

I've been thinking a lot about a logo for ENGRAINED. As of now, I don't really have one. But as I thought about what ENGRAINED is, I've come to the realization that it's to be honest about who we are.

The good and the bad. Because some of it really isn't within our control. A lot of it is within our DNA. It's in our blood. And that blood runs through everyone. It's the end, but also the foundation. And when you look at how blood runs through, you'll see a web so complex yet every split so critical. 

We share that in common. And the recognition is humanity. But we share so much of it with the earth and nature. That's how the roots concept came about. Our vascular system is a lot like trees and that understanding really stuck. Part of it is because of how much I heard it going to church when I was younger. 

That's what lead to the roots being present in every illustration. If you look closely, every design will have it.
